Stay hydrated. Wear sunscreen, insect repellant, sun hat, garden gloves, closed toe shoes or boots. Consider light- colored clothing, long pants that are tucked into socks, long sleeves and if you have it -pyritheum-treated clothing to repel ticks and other problematic insects.
